Color Explosions

Our white house was finally getting to me. Greg reluctantly stuck to his agreement of adding some color. We spent a couple hours doing the wall that runs through our living and kitchen and really like it so we excitedly did the rest. Our living room is a vibrant but relaxing blue. I have had to learn to like it. It isn't my favorite color but it is beginning to look better everyday. I would love to add some curtains, and I will, sometime. I have to say I LOVE my kitchen. It's lighter than the picture shows. I have found some decor I like but am waiting to purchase. I keep reminding myself it doesn't have to be all at once but that is always a hard argument. Overall I really like the colors we added.
Greg is now anticipating painting the hallway and bedrooms. Elayna's room will be pink, no shocker there, and they boys are still undecided. My room is going to be a peachy/orangy color to help lighten it up with all that big, dark furniture. I plan on doing an outdoors woodsy theme in the kids bathroom and who knows what in mine.

All about Sariah

Sariah celebrated her 2nd birthday on February 24. She had a fantastic party (with just her family) and was definitely the center of all the attention. She has become a very unique personality in our home it's hard to imagine life without her. Sariah is a very particular girl. She loves her schedule and the regularity of our days. Every morning when she gets up, before she can offer any love or attention to anyone/thing she must have a cup of milk on the couch with her blanket. She will scream, cry and make you miserable if you don't. (Poor dad had to learn the hard way one morning)

She is doing fabulous with her potty training. She does really good at home, always running to the potty. She will run in there and back up to the potty and wait for you to help her up. Yes, we have a stool but she refuses to use it. She will go and before she's done will yell treat! as if that's the only reason for the potty. She still won't go #2 on the pot but will run and get a diaper and insist you put it on. Once she does her business in the quite comfort of an empty room she will come get me and ask to be changed. Good girl.

Sariah LOVES animals. The zoo in a wonderland and our backyard holds just as much excitment for her with the rabbits, chickens and dogs. She will approach any animal and try to pet it. I love that she will squat down, pat her legs and call or coo to whatever it is she is trying to pet. One of her favorite places to shop is the feed store because they have cows, goats, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, cats, roosters, ducks...and the list goes on.

One of her less happy habits, one I find funny but a little irritating too, is her tattling. She has learned that if someone wrongs her she can come cry and say a name and someone will get in trouble. Well, not so much trouble, as much as an investigation into the unknown. She adores Zach, who can do no wrong. She loves to play rough with Adam and will read to Elayna. Adam gets the brunt of the blame even though he is usually an innocent party, well, in his play with Sariah at least. She loves that everyone is willing to play with her and she is a big part of all the action.

There is so much more to Sariah. She loves purple and gets upset if she can't pick out her clothes. She loves to be in charge and sometimes forgets she is only 2. She would eat, sleep and live on the trampoline if I'd let her, or the bath tub, whichever she can get to first. She is our happy little sparkler and the ultimate daddy's girl.

Are you there?

Yes, it seems like it was forever since I last posted. There has been so much going on I don't know where to begin. I guess I could go back and give details of all our medical problems that have been plaguing us since September but where is the fun in that? We have celebrated birthdays for Adam, Zach and myself and are about to celebrate Sariah's. We have been doing great with school and work and the mundane things. I have decided that as I go forward with a renewed goal of posting that I will also include flashbacks to the missing times that were so much fun. Nothing like nostalgia mixed in makes me feel more at home and happy. We hope everyone out there in cyber land is happy and well.
