A Reverent Sunday?

Today started out as a typical Sunday. Me telling the kids who knows how many times we don't play the Wii on Sunday or that we don't eat a package of cookies before mom wakes up. You know, all the typical things. Greg got up, dressed, recieved a few presents to honor his special day and then left for work. I fed the kids lunch and was starting to get dressed for church when I put a hole and giant run in my only pair of pantyhose. Oops! Then I realized that my shirt needed to be ironed so I set everything up in my room away from the rest of the chaos. I finished ironing and unplugged the iron when Adam runs in screaming with a pot stuck on his head. I couldn't help but laugh but he was really panicked. So we get the pot off and then he turns and see's the iron and puts his hand right on it. Smart guy, huh? I take him into the bathroom and run cold water on it. There were no blisters or red spots and within minutes he was just fine. As I was putting the final touches on my face and began brushing my teeth I realized I spilt my blue toothpaste down my newly ironed shirt. I got it all out and decided I was still going to wear the shirt. So we load up and head to church (without pantyhose...not a cool feeling) Today was the primary program for the dads. Since I am the pianist I go up with all the kids to the stand. Everything went great. The kids sang obnioxiously loud and everyone loved it. Once I sat back down I saw this big red/maroon spot right on my boob. Elayna couldn't have picked a more obvious spot to color my shirt, with washable markers of course. Thankfully no one said anything but I did see some smiles. A little later during sacrament meeting Elayna NEEDED to go to the bathroom. I took all 3 kids out and let her go. We wash up and go sit back down. She wanted to sit on my lap so I pull her up only to realize, yes-do I dare say it, she didn't wipe her bum and now my lap was all wet. Not a cool feeling! The rest of church went off without a hitch and the kids were wild and crazy until now..I just put them to bed. It has been a Holy Cow! of a day and I am ready to start a new one fresh and clean.

I am laughing so hard...your day sounds sooo much like a few (too many) I've had.

Hmm, you shoulda just skipped the ironing, and then everything would have been fine. LOL

Glad that day is over, and hopefully your "fresh" one is going better.

You just gave me my laugh for the day! That is funny! Those are the days that crawling into bed just feels so good!
