How do you scare the dentist?

I am currently working on getting my teeth fixed. I am in the final stages of it and went to the dentist today. I got the temporary crowns put on and will go back next week for the permanent next week. Anyways...the dentist was giving me the numbing stuff...a gazillion shots in my mouth and had me all good and numbed. He of course lets it set in for a minute and said he would come back and numb more directly in the tissues around the tooth(s) themselves. So he is starting on his second round of numbing and hit a nerve dead on. Talk about jumping. I smacked him good and the assistant went flying backwards in her chair. Reflex. Honest. It was hilarious! Once we had our laugh and got back to work things went smoothly. Now that the numbing stuff has worn off I am feeling the pain of it all only it feel 10 times worse. The nerve is not happy and neither is my face. I am all swollen on the side and have been taking lots of ibuprofen. Not my idea of a fun afternoon but it could be worse.

I hate the dentist. Hate hate hate. I have to go in pretty soon to get some work done and I am scared to death. Good for you clocking him though. haha.

Just got a cavity filled at the end of last year, definitely not fun...but at least I didn't send him flying either.

That is FUNNY!!! The worst part for me is getting those shots to numb my mouth but now that I have this to think about the next time (if there is one) I think I'll get through it a little easier... lol
