Something fishy
We went out to the fish store for a little bit last night. We were only gone bout an hour. When we got home we saw water coming off the gas meter on the side of our apartment. We knew that wasn't right and thought it was our big tank in the room right beside it. I looked in the window and didn't see any missing water. So we unloaded our new fish and came inside. We were taking our time when Greg said something just didn't seem right and went to check everything out. About 10 seconds later I hear him calling me to get back there and bring towels. I'm thinking its the 150 gallon tank and go back to see the 50 gallon salt water w/corals almost empty. Somehow the pump had come disconnected and was spraying water into the lights and all over the floor. We are guesstimating about 35 gallons of the 50 were gone. We immediately went into disaster mode cleaning and pulling water from our other salt water tank to fill this one back up. (the other one doesn't have corals so its okay to lose some water) It took a few hours to finally get everything back up and running...and getting rid of that terrible burning smell. Greg took apart all the lights and dried them off so we could use them and a few shocking moments later, literally, all was well. So now everything is back up and running. We still don't know how the water was leaking out the side of the apartment when the closets, hallways and room it would of had to go through were dry. I am glad though it happened that way. It turned out to be far less water for us to try to clean up. So this is not the first time this tank has had lots of water spill out. Every other time it has been human error. This time was totally accidental however I did give the alta matum. If it happens again I want the tank gone. I love having pets but at what cost? Thanks heavens nothing else came of it. No fishies were harmed during this adventure.

I am still in awe that you can keep fish alive...apparently we aren't meant to have fish...and who said parenting was hard?!
I like your last line there. As much as I really liked our fish tank I really haven't missed having to take care of it.
